In early spring, it produces a magnificent display of light pink to white-pink flowers, which give the tree an elegant appearance whilst attracting bees and other pollinators.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"491\" data-end=\"807\">After flowering, the familiar almonds develop, ripening from late summer into autumn. The nuts are enclosed in a green, felt-like husk that bursts open as soon as the almonds are ripe. The flavour is mild, aromatic and perfect for eating fresh, roasting or using in dishes and baked goods.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"809\" data-end=\"1211\">The \u2018Texas\u2019 almond tree grows into a medium-sized tree, reaching a height of around 4 to 6 metres, with an open, slightly upright crown.
