1971: to the Flevopolder
Relocation to a new area with the destination of fruit growing in the newly reclaimed Flevopolder. Father Schrama (photo: center) immediately starts growing rootstocks and fruit trees.
1980: growth
We have expanded the company with tree nursery and rootstock cultivation for professional cultivation.
1990: Innovation
In collaboration with Yamaha we developed a sorting machine that is controlled by
camera and computer. The project was approved and was made possible by an innovation grant.
1990: collaborations
Outside the Netherlands we started nurseries in Italy with Walter Malleier (1990-2000) and for several years in Portugal (1998-2002).
1995: own design machines
The uprooting and planting of fruit trees is increasingly mechanized. We use machines for this that we design ourselves.
2006: Greenhouses and pot fields
Expansion of the greenhouses and pot fields. After 15 years we started tissue culture with propagation in our own management.
First-class fruit trees from Dutch grower
Welcome to Schramas. Our family business has been located in the Flevopolder since 1968 and specializes in growing high-quality fruit trees and plants for professional fruit growers. Since December 2019, we also supply to private individuals. At Schramas, we combine traditional and modern techniques in our nurseries at home and abroad.
We work together with several universities in the Netherlands to develop beautiful and sustainable fruit trees and plants. All our products are free of genetic manipulation; we do not sell so-called genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
Our plants are grown with care and in an environmentally friendly way. We invest in research and breeding to make products stronger and healthier, with a focus on resistance and fruit yield.
As icing on the cake, all our crops are certified according to the Naktuinbouw ELITE standard. This guarantees excellent traceability and a high-quality product. Our products meet the strict requirements set out in EU Directive 2008/90/EC. This directive regulates the marketing of propagation material of fruit crops.

- Are your plants grown in an environmentally friendly way?
All our plants are grown in the most environmentally friendly way possible, with care for the environment and the preservation of biodiversity. We often spray with organic agents.
- Do you accept returns?
We supply healthy plant material, well packaged so that it will arrive in good condition. Plant bare rooted plants in the ground within 1 day after removing them from the packaging. We can only accept returns if the plant is returned in the same condition. If there is anything wrong with the contents, please contact us.
- Do you offer a guarantee on the plants?
We offer a growth guarantee on our plants. If your plant does not grow well within the first few months, please contact us and we will assess the situation.
- What if my plant arrives damaged?
If your plant is damaged upon arrival, please contact us immediately and send photos of the damage. We will provide a suitable solution, such as a replacement or refund, this of course depends on the damage, often damage will not affect the future of the plant.
- Can I change or cancel my order?
If you wish to change or cancel an order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your request, but please note that this depends on the status of the order.
- What is the delivery time of my order?
Delivery time may vary depending on plant availability and distance to delivery location. We aim to deliver orders within 2-3 business days.
- What are the shipping costs?
Shipping costs may vary based on the size and weight of the plant, as well as the delivery location. Exact shipping costs will be displayed during the checkout process.
