Corylus 'Tonda Gentile delle Langhe' is a tasty hybrid of the hazel, known for its delicious nuts that are widely used in Italian cuisine. This medium-sized deciduous tree can reach a height of 3-5 metres and produces large, round nuts with a thin shell and a full, nutty flavour. The nuts are loved for their culinary versatility and are often used in cakes, chocolate and various dishes.
Known for its hardiness, this hazelnut can thrive in a variety of climates, including cold regions where it can tolerate temperatures down to -20°C. Moreover, this selection from Italy is very drought-tolerant, making it a resilient choice for various gardens.
With a good pollinator like Tonda Romana, these nut tree varieties can bear excellent fruit. The nuts are of excellent quality and start falling around mid-September. These plants are currently 30 to 50 cm tall and come in a 12 cm pot.
