Pyrus communis 'Concorde' is a delicious hand pear, created from a cross between the two most popular pears in the Netherlands, the Conference and Doyenne du Comice. This pear tree grows into a tree, up to about 3.5 m in height, and is also suitable for half-stem or low-stem growing, making it perfect for small gardens too.
The fruit has many flavour characteristics of the famous Conference pear and has the texture of the Doyenne du Comice. The pear has a mainly green colour with light brown spots and a red blush on the sun side. Concorde is mainly a hand pear, but can also be used for juice and desserts.
The pear tree is well resistant to most ailments and diseases, bears fruit quickly and is very easy to care for. The large pears taste fresh-sweet and juicy. The pears are very similar to Conference pears, but are a bit thicker and less berry.
Concorde is an autumn and winter pear and can be harvested from mid-September. The storage time is quite long (several months), if the pears are kept refrigerated
