Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Black Beauty', also known as Lampshade Grass 'Black Beauty', is a remarkable ornamental grass with long arching, dark green leaves. This variety is known for its striking vigour and versatility. Although the leaves do not remain evergreen, it is still a good addition to various types of borders and plantings.
This graceful grass is especially good as a solitary plant, but can also look great in groups. What really distinguishes this 'Black Beauty' are the almost black plumes that remain attractive even after flowering. In autumn, this grass enchants with a spectacle of light green/yellow changing leaves in combination with the dark spikes.
