Beschrijving
Imperata cylindrica 'Red Baron', also known as Japanese Bloodgrass, is an enchanting ornamental grass with oblong red leaves that rise to around 40 cm in height. In spring, it adorns itself with a greenish-red hue, but as the season progresses, the grass develops an intense red colour. It thrives in a sunny position, but can also grow in semi-shade. The red colour will be more intense when the grass gets full sun.
This ground-covering ornamental grass does not flower prominently, but it needs a nutritious soil to thrive. A well-drained soil is important, as the grass should not be too wet in winter. At least semi-shade is required for optimal grass colouring.
