This set of three Hibiscus moscheutos varieties offers an impressive summer show of giant flowers and colourful foliage. The plants bloom richly in summer through deep autumn and are suitable for borders, sunny terraces and pots. With their tropical-looking saucer flowers and strong winter hardiness, they are a striking choice for any garden lover.
1. Hibiscus moscheutos ‘Copper Queen’
Flower colour: Light pink to white with a raspberry-red centre
Leaf colour: Deep reddish brown, remains striking all summer
Flower size: Up to 28 cm wide
BloomJuly - September
Height: Approx. 120 cm
‘Copper Queen’ is an improved version of ‘Kopper King’ with deeper coloured foliage and more intense flower pattern. The large flowers open pale pink and fade to white, with a striking contrasting red eye extending in veins to the petal edge. A strong plant for a sunny spot.
2. Hibiscus moscheutos ‘Fireball’
Flower colour: Deep red, saucer-shaped
Leaf colour: Deep purple, finely incised
Flower size: Up to 30 cm wide
Bloom: July - first frost
Height: Approx. 150 cm
‘Fireball’ is a spectacular hibiscus with intense red flowers that appear above purple-red foliage. The saucer-shaped flowers are a real eye-catcher and keep coming until the first night frost. This variety is particularly hardy and suitable for warm, sunny positions.
3. Hibiscus moscheutos ‘Jazzberry Jam’
Flower colour: Deep magenta with a red eye
Leaf colour: Fresh Green
Flower size: Up to 25 cm wide
Bloom: August - September
Height: Approx. 100 cm
‘Jazzberry Jam’ is more compact in growth than the other two, making it perfect for pots or the front edge of a border. The slightly fragrant flowers are intensely coloured and stand out beautifully against the fresh foliage. A floriferous choice with a slightly later flowering time.
