Immediate results and production
These ‘old’ apple trees instantly add character, a mature structure and fruit to the garden; trees in large pots, ready for immediate planting.
The Malus domestica ‘Ecolette’ is a modern, environmentally friendly apple variety known for its excellent resistance to mould and its mild, crisp and sweet flavour. The apples are firm, juicy and ideal for eating fresh, but are also well suited to use in salads, juices and light dishes. This old apple tree is a fully grown specimen measuring approximately 2 metres high, grown in a 45 litre pot at Bitterfelder rootstock. This vigorous rootstock ensures a strong root system, stable growth and reliable yields.
The Ecolette flowers in spring, producing soft pink to white blossoms that attract lots of bees. The fruits turn colour in the late summer to autumn a warm red colour on a green background and have an appealing, fresh flavour. The variety is self-pollinating, but higher yields are achieved with varieties such as ‘Elstar’, ‘Santana’ or ‘Gala’.
This apple tree is hardy, which is perfectly suited to the Dutch climate and grows best in a sunny, fertile and well-drained soil. Thanks to the vigour of the Bitterfelder rootstock, this is a robust, hardy tree that is suitable for a wide range of soil types. As it is already mature, it makes an immediate impact and yields fruit in the garden.
For safe transport, these heavy trees are shipped on a pallet.
