The Malus domestica ‘Jonagold’ is a classic and vigorous apple variety known for its large, golden-yellow fruits with a warm red blush. The apples have a a pleasantly sweet, aromatic flavour with a hint of freshness, making them ideal for eating fresh or using in cakes or desserts. This old apple tree is a magnificent, fully-grown tree measuring approximately 1.8–2 metres high, grown in a large 45-litre pot. The tree already has a well-developed crown structure and can bear plenty of fruit within a short space of time.
The Jonagold It blooms profusely in spring with soft pink to white blossoms that attract many bees and other pollinators. In late summer and autumn, the harvest of the characteristic Jonagold apples – firm, juicy and keeps well. This apple tree is self-pollinating, but produces an even better harvest when grown alongside varieties such as ‘Elstar’ or ‘Golden Delicious’.
The tree is hardy, grows vigorously and thrives best in a sunny spot with well-drained, nutrient-rich soil. As it is a mature plant, this is an excellent choice for anyone who wants to start growing one straight away a mature fruit tree with character wants to plant.

Bloom & Fruits:
In spring, these trees bloom profusely with white to pale pink blossoms. Fruit set follows in summer, and the picking or harvesting season is usually in the autumn (September–October). The apples are firm, juicy and keep well – ideal for eating fresh, making apple sauce or cooking.
Pitch & care:
Plant this tree in a a sunny to slightly shaded spot in well-drained, fertile soil. Avoid waterlogged soil. Water thoroughly during the first growing season and prune annually in winter or early spring to maintain the shape and encourage fruit production.
