The Malus domestica 'Notaris apple' is a classic Dutch apple variety known for its large, firm and fragrant apples with a slightly sweet, mildly tart flavour. The fruit is excellent for eating fresh and is suitable for juice, purée and baking. This old apple tree is supplied at a height of approximately 2 metres, raised in a 45 litre pot at rootstock M111. This vigorous rootstock ensures a deep and stable root system, vigorous growth and a long-lasting, healthy tree.

The Notarisapple blooms in spring with white to pale pink blossoms that attract many bees. The harvest takes place in the late summer to autumn, with the tree producing large, greenish-yellow apples with a rich aroma. The variety is not fully self-pollinating, which is why a good pollinator is recommended, such as ‘Groninger Kroon’, ‘Elstar’ or ‘Zoete Emgaard’.

This apple tree is hardy, resistant to changing weather conditions and feels best at home on a sunny, fertile and well-drained soil. Thanks to the vigorous growth of the M111 rootstock, this is a robust and hardy tree that stands firm, even in less than ideal soil conditions. As it is already mature, it bears fruit straight away and immediately adds substance and character to the garden.
