Immediate results and production
These ‘mature’ cherry trees immediately add structure, character and fruit to your garden; fully grown specimens in spacious pots, ready to be planted straight away.
The Prunus avium ‘Regina’ is a modern, top-quality sweet cherry known for its very large, dark red, firm fruits with a rich, sweet flavour. This variety is particularly popular because of its excellent crack resistance, even during wet summers. The cherries are firm, juicy and perfect for eating fresh, in desserts and for processing. This mature cherry tree is supplied at a height of approximately 2 metres, raised in a 45 litre pot at Colt rootstock. This rootstock gives a medium growth, healthy crown development and a reliable yield.
The Regina blooms profusely in spring with white blossoms that attract many bees. The harvest takes place in the late summer, usually just after the ‘Kordia’ variety, and is known for its high fruit quality and consistent yield. This cherry is not self-pollinating and requires a suitable pollinator, such as ‘Kordia’, ‘Karina’ or ‘Lapins’.
This cherry tree is hardy, resistant to the Dutch climate and grows best on a sunny, fertile and well-drained soil. Thanks to the Colt rootstock, growth is manageable, making the tree suitable for both private gardens and orchards. As it is already mature, it produces fruit straight away and immediately adds substance and character to the garden.
For safe transport, these heavy trees are shipped on a pallet.
