Ribes nidigrolaria 'Jostaberry', also known as Jostaberry, is a robust shrub that endures winter effortlessly, albeit with the loss of its leaves. This particular plant is a hybrid between gooseberry and blackcurrant. In May and June, the shrub adorns itself with beautiful orange-yellow calyx flowers. Then in summer it produces juicy, black berries with a pleasant mildly sour flavour. Jostaberry is resistant to disease and infection, and its fruits are versatile, both fresh and processed into delicious jams and jellies. With its sturdy branches and striking appearance, this shrub reaches a height of about 150 cm and a width of 1 metre. It thrives best in full sun to semi-shade and is at home in all kinds of well-drained soil types.
