‘White Plume’ is evergreen and requires some space, but is otherwise low-maintenance and can withstand dry summers very well. In autumn and winter, the panicles remain beautifully erect, and in spring you can cut back the grass to about 50 cm to rejuvenate the plant. For young plants, some winter protection is desirable; older tussocks are hardy to -16°C.
