        Pomegranates

        The pomegranate is a shrub that can vary from one to six metres tall and originated in ancient Persia (now Iran). Wall paintings with pomegranates have been found in Egypt dating back some 2,500 years. The pomegranate consists of all kinds of tiny grains that spatter away like a grenade when a ripe fruit falls to the ground. The Latin word for grain is therefore granum. A tasty and super healthy fruit.
