Fruit & Bloom
The fruits are usually round to slightly oval, with tangy acidic bitter flesh and an aromatic, light skin. The flesh is bright yellow and rich in seeds. Alemow is unique like citrus that can bloom and bear fruit all year round (four-season breed), although the spring flowering peak is the most productive period.

Use in the kitchen
Use the Alemow just like a lemon: squeeze the juice or grate the zest for a fresh twist in dishes. Ideal in salads, dressings, marinades or as a flavouring in drinks and baking recipes.

Cold resistance and care
This citrus is exceptionally hardy: in a greenhouse or well-protected veranda, it keeps cold up to -12 °C setting. Temperature above zero allows for life, but best results are obtained with a stand above +2 °C. Water moderately during winter dormancy and increase watering with alternating fertilisers (such as citrus fertiliser) between spring and early autumn.

Care for the tree like an average lemon tree: well-draining, slightly acidic soil, plenty of sun and extra feeding every few weeks during the growing period. Prune only to maintain shape and remove crossing branches.
