Black Mission Fig – A popular variety of fig
The Black Mission Fig, also known as Mission or Franciscana, is a popular variety of the edible fig (Ficus carica). This fig has a good production and is considered an 'ever-fruiting' variety in the right climate.
The Black Mission Fig is a dark cut fig with a strawberry colored interior. The skin of the fruit often cracks when ripe. It is a very sweet fig with a berry flavor. The leaves are often pinkish in color and vary greatly in shape and are usually somewhat thin and limp.
