The Lycium barbarum ‘Little Goji’ is a revolutionary dwarf variety of the well-known goji berry, specially bred for small gardens, terraces and balconies. Whereas most goji berries form large, wild bushes, ‘Little Goji’ remains compact and manageable with a mature height of just 80 cm. This makes it perfect for pots and small spaces, without sacrificing production: it produces an abundance of healthy, orange to light red goji berries, rich in vitamins and antioxidants.
Compact and low-maintenance:
‘Little Goji’ stays nicely compact with fine branching and elegant, lilac flowers in spring. This variety has virtually no spines, making it easy to prune and maintain.
Ripe and self-pollinating:
The first berries appear soon, usually in the first or second year. The harvest period runs from September onwards and the berries are delicious to eat directly or incorporated into smoothies, tea or dried as a healthy snack.
Location and care:
Place ‘Little Goji’ in a sunny spot, preferably in well-drained soil. The shrub is very hardy (down to -12 ºC) and can be planted in pots or directly in the open ground. Pruning is easy, as its compact growth habit keeps it in neat shape by itself.
Perfect for any garden:
With its charming appearance, compact size and abundant production of super-healthy fruit, the Lycium barbarum ‘Little Goji’ an absolute asset for any garden lover - whether you have a big garden, a balcony or a small city garden!
