Discover the 'Gieser Wildeman' stewing pear in our 5 liter pot. This pear tree of the Pyrus c. Gieser Wildeman variety is specially selected for preparing delicious red cooking stewing pears. With this commonly used stewing pear variety, together with the Saint Remy pear tree, you bring tasty variation to the table without the need for wine or colorants.
The 'Gieser Wildeman' stewing pear has a characteristic shape with a small size. The pears have a rusty brown color on a green-yellow background and are naturally sweet. This sweetness is so pronounced that adding sugar is in principle unnecessary.
The Pyrus communis 'Gieser Wildeman' is self-pollinating, which means it is able to produce fruit without a pollinator. However, experience shows that cross-pollination with another variety stimulates the tree and increases yield.
The flowering period of the 'Gieser Wildeman' pear tree is in April/May, with beautiful white blossoms adorning the tree. The fruits are ripe for picking in October, after which you can enjoy the culinary possibilities.
