Direct planting, any time of the year
The Pyrus communis ‘Lisanne’ is a space-saving columnar pear tree ideal for small gardens, terraces and even balconies. Thanks to its narrow, upright growth habit, this pear tree fits perfectly in places where space is limited. With a mature height of up to 250 cm and minimal width, it is the solution for fresh fruit lovers with limited garden space.
Growth form and appearance
‘Lisanne’ is a columnar pear tree that grows slowly with few to no side branches. This creates a slender, graceful plant that hardly needs any pruning. This makes the tree particularly low-maintenance. Its upright structure also makes it excellent for placing against a wall or as a vertical eye-catcher in a pot.
Flowering and fruits
The tree blooms with white flowers in April, after which fruit can form from the second year. The pears are medium-sized, yellow-green in colour and similar in taste to well-known varieties such as ‘Conference’ and ‘Concorde’ - juicy, slightly sweet and deliciously aromatic. Harvesting takes place around mid-September.
Self-pollinating and disease-resistant
This columnar pear is self-pollinating, which means you don't need a second tree for fruiting. Moreover, the variety has been selected for natural resistance to common fruit diseases. This makes ‘Lisanne’ ideal for organic or low-maintenance gardens - with no need for spraying.
Application
Whether you have a small city garden, want to green up a terrace or grow fruit on your balcony: with this pillar pear tree, it's all possible. Also perfectly suited as an addition to an existing fruit garden where space is at a premium.
