This set of 3 Japanese maples combines three different growth forms and leaf colours in one package. The combination of fresh green, finely incised leaves and deep red leaves creates a strong contrast and makes this set suitable for gardens where leaf texture and seasonal colouration are key.
Planting several species together creates a varied picture that changes throughout the season. In spring the leaves sprout freshly, in summer they show their full colour and in autumn follows the characteristic autumn colouring for which Japanese maples are known.

About the species
Acer palmatum ‘Emerald Lace’
A fine-leaved evergreen selection with deeply cut leaves. Growth is graceful and slightly arching. In autumn, the leaves turn warm shades.
Acer palmatum ‘Seiryu’
An upright growing dissectum form with fresh green, strongly incised leaves. Unlike many other fine-leaved maples, ‘Seiryu’ grows upright. Its autumn colour ranges from yellow to shades of red.
Acer palmatum ‘Atropurpureum’
A classic red-leaved variety with hand-shaped leaves. The colour varies from red to reddish purple during the season, followed by intense autumn colouring.
Location and care
Japanese maples grow best in a sheltered spot in semi-shade. Bright midday sun and strong winds can damage the leaves. The soil should be humus-rich and well-drained. In winter, the plants are deciduous and fully hardy in the Dutch climate.
